For a limited period, APEX Driver training is offering a free Practical Test (worth £56.50).with every course of 30 lessons or more. Driving Standards Agency statistics show that the average learner will take around 45 lessons, plus 22 hours private practice before passing the practical test. This offer is not available in conjunction with any other offer.
I have had a few emails recently either asking or complaining that we were telephoning driving instructors and requesting that they could pay for more pupils.
I too am a driving instructor and I received a call the other day from someone syaing they were from the Driving Schools Register. They were looking for ADI’s in my area to ‘partner’ with them as they had a load of enquiries for my ‘area’.
They also mentioned the DIA (Driving Instructors Association) of which I am a member. It sounded as though/the inference was, the DIA had given them my number and my assumption was that they were therfore in some way affiliated with them. I of course took interest from a competitive point of view!
I requested their website information/address so that I could look into their request further - I had no interest in more pupils. The lady on the phone couldn’t tell me what it was precisely but to ‘Google’ ‘driving schools register’ and something else which, I cannot now remember. The call didn’t last too long once she knew I wouldn’t do anything over the phone and wanted to consider/investigate further.
There are other driving schools directories out there but I believe www.driving-Schools-directory.co.uk to be the largest, human edited one in the UK and growing daily. Well, we are the only one that I have seen that openly displays the number of UK towns we have listed. We do not list ‘teaser’ details ’scraped’ from other websites or from purchased commercial databases. All the driving schools listed have specifically requested to do so.
I think next time I get ‘the’ call, I will fein more interest to see exactly what they are promising and what the cost is likely to be and how they want to take my money.
Rest assured, if you receive any of these type of telephone calls, they will not be from ourselves.
Regards,
Mark

To coincide with the launch of their new web site, Intensive Driving UK have now decided to expand their Driving Instructor Training Services into Hull and Lincoln. Keith Hornby and Steve Ward http://www.intensive-driving-uk.co.uk/about_your_tutors.htm are probably the most professional and successful ADI trainers in the country. Between them they have over 25 years experience in training and examining students for the ADI examinations. They are constantly achieving pass rates for Parts 2 and 3 of the DSA examinations way above the national average. Due to their success, their services are in big demand.
They have been inundated with requests for help from students who are down to their last attempt at Part 2 or Part 3 of the DSA examinations. It was because of this that they decided to offer their ADI Part 2 and Part 3 Rescue Packages.
Potential Driving Instructors who have been disappointed with their current trainers, are now coming to us from all parts of the UK. We can provide a residential service for students who do not live close by.
Students who have attended the Part 3 Rescue Course would generally agree that their past examination failures were mostly down to receiving poor training from trainers who didn’t know what they were doing.
Intensive Driving UK have received unprecedented requests for Steve and Keith to expand their training services. As from 1st June 2007 they will now provide their services in Hull, Lincoln, Scunthorpe, Grimsby and all surrounding areas. Good news travels fast.
As well as training students for their Part 2 and Part 3 examinations, they also provide check test training and remedial training for low grade ADI’s.
Anyone wishing to book training with either Keith or Steve should call their booking office on 01472 31 32 33, or visit their web site http://www.intensive-driving-uk.co.uk/
LDC Driving school now has a driving instructor in Hexham. David Rout, who was a senior driving examiner, has joined the franchise and now offers both hourly driving lessons and intensive courses in the Hexham area.
Sitting at home the other night the phone rings, “Help, I’ve my check test next week and I don’t know what to do!”. This is not the first time a call has come in like this to car4go.
“No problem” I replied “we at car4go can assist”
An appointment was made and I sat in on a lesson, which I am afraid to say had no merit to it. The ADI had forgotten all that was used to pass part 3. There was no ROMPS no putting the pupil at ease (although this was done by me when we first met).
At the end of the lesson we chatted about the lesson and the ADI responded that it wasn’t his best but neither was it his worst!
We made an appointment for some refresher training on the Saturday and Monday where the knowledge did come back.
Now the point of this is that today the check test was done and the ADI is now a grade 5. Well done! The message to car4go was “A big thank you for your time and of course your understanding of not only how to get the grade but what its like being an instructor.
If there are any ADIs/PDIs out there on tghe Southcoast who maybe in the same boat why not look at car4go’s web site www.car4go.co.uk
I must have too much time on my hands! I’ve just finished my new learners welcome site, which I suspect will become the main site for my learner business. It is Driving Lessons Lancaster. I think that my main site will gradually become the Driving Instructor Training only. Feel free to browse both guys, any comments are welcome.
